Who ARE SambAfriq?

SambAfriq is a community samba drumming band. We are not for profit organisation, run by volunteers.

As a group, we learn about and explore carnival music and practices from around the world, taking inspiration from this and create exciting samba and samba reggae fusion sounds led and arranged by Emma, our Musical Director. Emma studies the music and spirit of carnival and practices this across Manchester and wider afield with her work.

Come and join us!

At our Friday night sessions, expect to find lots of percussion instruments, dancing, smiley faces and a real family vibe!

We present a mixture of skills sessions and rehearsing our performance set lists, and both elements are open to newcomers, and people from all musical experience and background.

We are lucky to be able to perform these wonderful beats at many events, so come and join and be a part of the Sambafriq force on a Friday!

We rehearse every Friday night 7pm - 9.45pm at Lancaster Way Community Centre, Lanaster Way, Buckshaw Village, Chorley, Lancashire PR7 7LJ. All instruments and instruction provided. Just £6 per session.
